Clocking in

    Like it's already been said, especially on the desk, it's a liquid schedule. There were slow summer nights when I'd leave at 12:10 after coming in 5:10. I wrote 4-1 on my time sheet.

    Then there were night when I'd come in at 3:30 and leave at 2. I wrote 4-1 on my time card.

    Then again, when I knew I'd be working major overtime for weeks on end, I took a little more care with the time sheet, and they understood that too. ... I'm guessing this silliness, biancalana, stems from, like others have said, getting some sort of slap on the wrist from a higher power.
