Sweet Jesus, please don't let Dice-K be the guy starting for the Sox that night...

Has anyone noticed that except for the pause, Daisuke's delivery from the wind-up is pratically the same as Clemens'?

You know, I never even thought about that. So right, though.

Brian, how do you plan on filling the others holes in your rotation and bullpen.

The whole thing sounds like a pro wrestling reveal, according to the notes of someone who was there. Clemens was in Steinbrenner's box, snuck in, and during the seventh-inning stretch, Bob Sheppard asked everyone to turn their attention to the owners' box, where Clemens materialized, waving and smiling. All that was missing was Jim Ross saying, "My God! That's Roger Clemens' music!"

Clemens, Mussina, Pettitte and Wang seem to be a fairly strong rotation, if healthy.

Hughes, too. If last year's rookie pitchers are any indication, he'll be pretty good the first time through the league and decent the second. Plus, his arm is going to be fresher down the stretch b/c of the hamstring injury and he'll have the ear of Clemens. This all rides on him coming back 100%, though.

The Yankees need pitching, they don't need Clemens

The Yankees bullpen still sucks, though.

Clemens is a six inning starter. Pettitte is a six inning starter. Mussina will give the Yanks six innings, maybe seven. Who knows what Igawa is.

This seems like a last, desperate grasp at past glory for an old team.
