Clarion-Ledger/Hattiesburg American jobs

The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., has a slew of job openings posted on CareerBuilder.com (didn't see them on JJobs). Most are non-newsroom positions, but there are also listings for a high school sports editor to replace the departing Rod Walker, and a part-time copy editor.
In all, there's about 10 jobs listed in Jackson and Hattiesburg. More than a dozen were whacked during Gannett's layoffs last week. So are these just other people that have left but are still deemed essential, like the sports job, or is something amiss here?
