Clapton's Guitar Fest On PBS

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Fenian_Bastard, Nov 28, 2007.

  1. The video of this year's Crossroads concert in Chicago is running as a Great Performances show right now.
    1) Johnny Winter looks very dead.
    2) BB King can still play, but can't stand up very well.
    3) Derek Trucks is very much the bomb.
And, the absolute highlight, for me, three numbers from Steve Winwood, who is in magnificent voice. We get "Presence Of The Lord," with that wonderful, modest wah-wah break in the middle from EC, and a kickass "Dear Mr. Fantasy" with Winwood proving that he might be the most underrated rock guitarist in history.
    Great, great show.
Anyone of the Chi brethren and sistren in the audience?
