church fireworks

    tonight, as they do every sunday immediately before July 4, the huge church that's a block over behind our house -- my wife calls it the "warehouse church" -- has a big fireworks show.

    not sure what that it has to do with churchly things, really.

    (they did follow the 1812 overture with handel's messiah, which we all found ... curious)

    but it's a verrry nice fireworks show.

    Interesting music selection, but maybe they just wanted a place for people to gather. Did they at least have the Stars & Stripes?

    Oh yes. Lots of patriotic music before the fireworks show started at sundown.

    Good. I'm not one of those nutters, but it always pisses me off when I don't hear that song on the 4th. As for the rest of the year, see ya Sousa!

    Church by us has a block party on the Sunday before Halloween. Very loud music, very religious, very much anti-Halloween....
