It's not Christmas season until you hear Bing and Dave on the radio or out somewhere. Or better yet, Kirsty MacColl calling out "Merry Christmas your arse!" (It never ceases to amaze me that Shane McGowan is the member of that duet still alive.)
For pure joyful, glorious bombast, though, you can't beat Chris Cornell's "Ave Maria" - he, whatever symphony, and that backup singer all kick ass.

    That's a Hanukkah Song... not a Christmas song :D
But which version of the Hanukkah Song?
    The original -

    The sequel -

    Or the third one -

if we were including Hanukkah songs in addition to Christmas songs I would have included all three of those plus ..
I am a Latke (the latke song) - Debbie Friedman

That's a great one, and I humbly offer Please Let Me Sleep, It's Christmastime by Pearl Jam to any and all who have not heard it.

  8. Fairytale of New York is a perennial.
Among other Hibernian favorites, I can recommend the CD's "Bells Of Dublin" (The Chieftains) and "On Christmas Night" (Cherish The Ladies).
Outside of the Guaraldi Charlie Brown, our Christmas CD staple is The Roches' "We Three Kings." The best "Good King Wenceslaus" ever, and that's my favorite underrated holiday fave.
Otherwise, The Time/Life Treasury Of Christmas has it all.

Darlene does four songs - including the one from Letterman - on the Phil Spector Christmas album I posted.
Plus, we can't forget about her song with the E Street Band from the Home Alone 2 soundtrack:

If you're going to post Darlene Love doing Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) then I need to post this one:
