Chicago TV reporter in hot water

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Billy Pritchard, Jul 10, 2007.

  1. Anybody see or hear about this? Gotta wonder how a reporter can put herself -- and her kids -- into a position like this. Is it worth it if she somehow came away with some tidbit of new information?

In the report shown on WBBM's Web site, they quote neighbors saying that the reporter had been over at the house several times alone. So I don't buy her story that she and the kids were driving somewhere else to go swimming.

So a.) she's hanging out with a guy involved in a story she's covering and b.) she's hanging out, with her children, with a guy who still hasn't been cleared by police in his wife's disappearance.

old photo...she has much longer hair.

Why did the other channel have a camera rolling in the neighbor's backyard?

If she was covering this story and sleeping with the victim it is a big problem and she should be fired.

If she was only having an affair, the problem is only with her husband.

I don't buy Amy Jacobson's story at all, and she committed a Katrina-sized ethics breach. That said...
Channel 2 was equally irresponsible to put that tape on the air and the Web. Not only is the whole idea of tailing a rival reporter to private property to shoot the footage unfair, but HER CHILDREN! appeared in this thing. If this story was simply about embarassing a competitor, that's one thing. But potentially putting the target's children in danger so they could have a scoop...
She's not a great mother if she mixed the kids up in this situation. But that doesn't excuse putting innocent kids who did not create this sad episode in the aired footage. Mr. Jacobson may need to hire TWO lawyers.

Nice twist, isn't it? Stebic's neighbor is obviously a Channel 2 fan!
