    Overview

The Chicago Tribune is seeking a sports reporter to cover the Chicago Bulls.

    Responsibilities

The ideal reporter will attack the Bulls beat with an audience-first mentality, understanding how the team fits into the fabric of Chicago culture and sports.

We are looking for someone with a proven ability to reach, engage and inform a digital audience. The reporter is expected to be data-informed and genuinely care about the news and information readers want — and how they want it.

The right candidate is a reporter who can adapt their writing style and coverage plans to an ever-changing audience.

This is a demanding beat requiring speed, stamina and flexibility with hours. It requires extensive travel.

    Qualifications
—A minimum of 5 years of reporter experience

    — A keen knowledge of the Chicago Bulls — both current and historical — and of the NBA landscape

    — The ability to pivot between breaking news, game breakdowns, player features and unique storytelling

    — A wide reach on all social media platforms

    — A strong awareness of the Chicago sports landscape and industry trends

    — A strong work ethic

This is a child's job. Everyone with one year of HS experience would be a perfect fit.
