Every post on this thread has cracked me up. I'm just pissed AQB beat me to the Planet of the Apes reference. It was the first thing that jumped into my head.

 

Tony Kornheiser did a long radio bit about chimps Molly and Ollie, the ones in California who got out of their cages and attack and old couple visting their former pets at a sanctuary. Ollie ate off a good bit of the old dude's nose, some fingers and his naughty bits before he was killed. TK went nuts because the people were there feeding cake to their old pets for a birthday party.

I didn't hear the TK bit, but it was actually a tremendously sad story.

It was this nice, old retired couple and the poor man was literally mauled to within an inch of his life.
