Nice research, DD. Shows just how short a shelf life the pop-culture references have.

 

That's what we thought.

 

I know I've said this a bajillion times, but pop culture references, particularly when employed as metaphors and analogies, are as hacky as the French dude in Slapshot.

 

I tend to agree, Jonesy, but coming from one of the best writers going today, that statement carries a lot of weight.

 

Even Murrow had to chat with "Lee" Liberace in order to get to McCarthy.

*Disclaimer: In no way am I comparing Silver with Murrow. After seeing those glasses, I might go for a comparison with Liberace, though.
