Chase Daniel's bowl performance fishy?

The spread is unstoppable when you have a QB who can both pass and run and a strong RB for the zone read.

It all starts with the zone read. It forces defenses to make a choice between how they defend run or pass.

Oregon shredded OK State the other night once they got the zone read going.

To stop the spread it starts with a good d line - 2 big tackles and 2 fast ends who can control the edge. This will allow you to get away with 5 or 6 players in the box and use the other on coverage. If you have to commit 7 players to the box for run then you are toast.

Oklahoma is an example of a team with good d line that can do this. Texas can also as can USC.

You didn't watch Missouri much this year evidently.

This year, Chase Daniel wasn't even the best QB in the Big 12 North.

Mostly because he had to face the GOOD teams from the Big 12 South this season ...

They tried to shift the spot over to the left hash mark and failed spectacularly, wasting a lot of time on the clock in the process. If they'd just let it go and allowed Wolfert to kick on second down, he makes it. Maybe not easily, but the game doesn't go into OT. I would like to see Coach Pinkel make it a clean slate as far as coordinators go and give Matt Eberflus his walking papers - the D looked absolutely horrendous on Monday, and that's saying something for this crew.
