Charles Einstein, Editor of several "Fireside" baseball anthologies, The Baseball Reader and author of books such as "Willie's Time," has passed away. For many of us, the Fireside anthologies we read as kids were surely one of the reasons we began to think that sports and writing were not mutually exclusive. As a friend wrote me earlier tonight, "A Giant, 1926-2007."

Among other things, Charles Einstein was the older half brother of Albert Brooks (Albert Einstein) and Super Dave Osborne (Bob Einstein). Really.

Interesting. One who was a genius at theories of physics, and another who implemented those theories.
