    My question is: How does Missoula support three newspapers? There were three mentioned in the second article linked. Are there more out there?

    The Missoula Independent is the "alternative" weekly paper; the Independent-Record (another Lee daily paper) is based in Helena.

    I think the "Missoula Current" is a web-only news outlet.

    The Indy is a free weekly in Missoula, and the Current is an upstart website that is trying to find its footing in the community. The University also has a solid student-run publication that competes for clicks.
