Changes in Army basic training

    Just curious, how much swimming did they make you do?

    About the first week of boot camp we did a swim test where you dropped off a 10-foot platform, tread water for 10 or 15 minutes (don't remember) then swim 100 yards. After that I don't recall being in a Navy pool over the next four years.

    The biggest thing you train for in the Navy is firefighting. At least it was 20 years ago.
