For the ten millionth time, put in your 40 and leave. If corporate cares so much, then they can put in the overtime. And if they threaten, tell them you'll report them to the Dept. of Labor. That'll shake them up nicely.

 

Yeah you're right. I think my rant was more that corporate thinks it all can be done in 40 (or even in 8) and seems surprised when its not. We tell everyone to stay on the clock when they work. Its just irritating to have to do so much with so little and have it be our fault we rack up OT.

 

The axe has been swinging pretty hard at Gatehouse today. I know the only copy editor/designer in my old newsroom (formerly 5.5 people, now presumably 4.5 or fewer) got hit.
