Supposedly, Conan said he didn't want to take the TBS gig if it meant pushing Lopez aside. Lopez supposedly called Conan to tell him it was OK.

Even I, one of the world's biggest Conan fans, finds that hard to believe, hence all the supposedlys there.

Be that as it may, we're in a facts business, not a speculation business.

This is one Mexican-American who likes George Lopez. A lot of his comedy, especially the standup stuff, really hit home and I could relate to it.

    Must be an "ethnic" thing.

But anyway, I thought his TV show was good. And he had a right to be ticked off when ABC pulled the plug. They replaced his show with "Cavemen." And that lasted two episodes. Wonder who got fired over that decision.

His ABC show got terrible ratings and he milked it into syndication. He has nothing to complain about. ABC probably didn't want to piss off Sandra Bullock, who was an executive producer of his show.

Lopez is funny. Divorcing his wife after she gave him a kidney was cold.

So were Cousin Larry and Balki, and the Winslows. Doesn't mean Perfect Strangers and Family Matters weren't ass.

    The wrong Belushi died.

"The wrong Belushi died" line is mentioned EVERY time Jim Belushi comes up on this board. It's a tired joke, even when the same person says it under different handles. Anyway, According to Jim is pretty awful, but it's M*A*S*H compared to George Lopez.
