I was wondering what you were talking about, and then I found this:

EDIT: Apparent double homicide. I misread the story.

Cronkite should be the next on that list to go.

Then after Wooden gets caught cavorting with Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton will get all butt-hurt and put a bullet in his mentor.

At least, that's how I see it playing out.

R.I P. Robert McNamara - Former JFK Sec of Defense

I imagine there are at least 58,000 families that won't be grieving.

From the Times on Mcnamara - this might even blow Michael Jackson off the channels

Sad to say Boom, CBS morning show was talking about live wall-to-wall coverage of Jackson memorial at 1 p.m. tomorrow and never mentioned McNamara.

A very sad commentary on our society.

    Same for Today show.

(I didn't know anyone watched the CBS morning show.)

Jackson has stayed in the news for a remarkably long time. Granted, his funeral hasn't even happened yet, but for any death to be at the top of the news for almost two weeks is pretty unheard of.

And therin lies a major problem in our celebrity-crazed society.

And 21, I'm not usually awake to watch morning news shows. Had to take some relatives to the airport this morning and I think it was CBS I had on while mainlining coffee. I'm not even sure.

If Cronkite goes today it would be a combination that rivals Adams and Jefferson going on same day.

In the preface of Mcnamara's book- In Retrpspect:

"We of the Kennedy and Johnson administrations who participated in the decisions on Vietnam acted according to what we thought were the principles and traditions of this nation. We made our decisions in light of those values. Yet we were wrong, terribly wrong. We owe it to future generations to explain why."

    Pretty amazing admission.
