Gawd... now I have to remember where... I know I spent an Alabama-MSU baseball game downloading them
Also have The Country Club, Merion, Medinah...

One of them is www.apcd-courses.com... you'll have to register to get them out. but I know I had a better one

My friend, who can play golf games but not actually golf, is correct...

Some are free, some are pay, some will take you to another site to download.
You'll have to register at some sites; be sure it's compatible with what you have. I have it on a laptop and some of them wouldnt work because the drive I had sucks. had to backtrack tot eh original damn driver to get the stuff to play, which screwed with the rest of my programs. Settled for the updated driver and missing occasional graphics.

The latest version of Links is 2003. It's a pretty good game, especially considering all of the courses available for download for free. Check out http://www.mikejgolfdesign.com/, Mike Jones is the premier designer in the community, and his worst courses easily surpass most of the ones that come with the game. You have to pay for most of his designs, but Augusta National and Crystal Pines are free for starters.

Avoid Links 2001 like the plague, it is a terrible game.

Links 2000, in my opinion, is the best golf game ever created, but it doesn't have a course designer so you can't download custom courses and the graphics are quite dated at this point. The ball physics and swing meter are superior to any other game I've encountered, but I doubt the things that make it great are really noticable at all unless you've been playing the series since the mid 90's. I recommend you go with the 2003 version.

Also, I would avoid the Tiger Woods series. They seem to be the golf games for people that don't play golf.
