Ok, those of you who saw it - what say you?

Scorer said LaRoche was 2/3rds of the way down the line when CC fielded the ball.
That's not even close - we had 2 angles that clearly show he's not even half-way there, and maybe only a third of the way at most.

    I am hoping I finally worked a no-hitter.

I vote for it being probably the most awkward no-hitter ever.

I'd say you are right - but in deference to the official scorer, this is a no-brainer. Call's not even a close one to decide.

LaRoche was halfway there when Sabathia touched the ball.

Honestly, it would have taken a hell of a play, the direction that massive man was moving when he gathered the ball.

Every day of the week, I score that a hit.

    I watched the play a half-dozen times on MLB.tv. I agree.

Halfway? Not even - that's the main crux of my argument in favor of an error. To be honest, after seeing it numerous times in the truck, I think had he picked it up again and thrown it, it's still an out.

No intended huge offense..... but how in fuck do you say he is only a third of the way there?
Are you watching some Canadian Rules baseball where the actual first base is 135 feet from home?

But you KNOW it will get reversed.

Those who have seen him answer: He holds the ball, what's the chance he makes the play?

He absolutely makes the play if he holds it.

Well, I'd say more close to halfway than a third, but for sure no more than that.
Our low third angle really showed it.

    Hit.

If the Pirates had gotten a few more is this even an issue?

He makes the play if he uses his glove. No hit.
