    BBAM:

    There is very little there. It's fun to walk around for an afternoon, but it's not much more than an overnight experience. Since you're going to be there in December, it will be pretty empty and some of the businesses may be closed. It might also be pretty chilly.

    You might want to rethink this.

    There's plenty to do there: lounging, relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, boating, taking it easy.
    It's just the wrong time of year.
    Guess you'll have to stay in the whole time.

    If you're into camping, you can spend one night at Two Harbors (that's where the boat goes after Avalon). Absolutely beautiful, right by the ocean, and there's a general store and restaurant right there.
