    Re: Cassell traded to Chiefs

I believe there's some sort of Chinese wall between the league and its network.

I'm curious ... is this how KC decided to spend the third pick?

If the Pats got this year's first-rounder from KC, I may have to kill somebody. I'm guessing it's either this year's No. 2 or next year's No. 1.

    A. The public doesn't give a shit.
    B. When they are wrong, there are never retractions.

That's a risk they probably have to take. They could tie up $30 million at one position, with one of them on the bench at all times, but then that other $15 million could have gone to improving the secondary, finding some depth at linebacker, trying to keep Wilfork and/or Seymour, etc.

They need to address the defense. It's not terrible, but it could use some help.

The public doesn't give a shit about 90 percent of the stuff discussed on this board.

It's obvious Mizzou keeps up with it, and I was just curious. Nothing more. Had nothing to do with the public's interest in the matter.

Save that point for another topic.

Makes sense. I forgot how much Cassel was due to make.

The Pats can get a very capable backup for probably about a fifth of what Cassel was going to make.

    Ryan,

Who did the Pats have behind Bledsoe? Who was behind Brady last winter? Cassel. Now I think is Matt Gutierrez. At one time the Pats liked him better than Cassel.

As for the topic advice, I'll address Mizz when I want.

Yes, you will. Doesn't mean it makes any sense, though.

    Carry on.

Sweet. The Royals have turned into Atlanta-east since Dayton Moore arrived as GM. Now that Pioli is in KC, we'll get all the Patriots rejects we want. I can't wait till Laurence Marone is in the backfield. Good times.

According to PFT, the No. 3 pick is not involved in this trade.

I didn't really figure it would be, but that's still a relief to hear.
