I've been a critic of Kevin Long as hitting coach for a long time, maybe this means the Yankees are finally about to make a change.

Phil Watson is a freelance journalist and commentator based in upper Michigan who covers the New York Yankees for the Yahoo Contributor Network.

He covers the Yankees on a freelance basis from upper Michigan? (And, shouldn't "upper" be upper case in this instance?)

He is based in Kalamazoo, where every night he sneaks into Derek Jeter's boyhood home and smells the tighty whiteys Jetes wore as a 10-year-old.

So, basically, Phil Watson is MankyJimy.

How Phil Watson covers the Yankees from the U.P. is one aspect to this story, but to me it boils down NOT to why Long didn't say something to Cashman or Girardi, but why Teixeiera didn't say anything. Cashman is acting like Long knew more about how Teixeira felt than Teixeira did.

No different from Lupica covering The Yankees from his couch in New Canaan.

Unusual for Cashman to create a media storm like that. Thinking that he wanted to deflect from bad road trip and Youk and Tex going DL. Maybe too he is feeling the heat.

Could turn out to be a long summer in The Bronx. The Mets now have a golden opportunity to take back The City. There will be a big buzz about Wheeler and
Harvey. They need a few more hitters but things could get interesting.

Might be a little different. Lupica was probably earning more than $1.10 per 1,000 hits.
