    My beef about that thread is one can't really discuss the Democrats without getting a reflexive "now do Trump," as if every thought on the thread has to be filtered through that lens first.

    So, conservatives or a moderate like myself get shouted down. It would be interesting to know how many members of this site are socialists and square that with the First Amendment.

    I actually agree with this. I don’t see a real socialist on the board. I do see posters who’d try on just about any cultural worldview deemed cool to get the reflected glory off it.

    The Daily podcast is doing a two-parter on Cancel Culture. The term actually started as a meme from an internet video - a character dismisses an espresso machine that he can't get to work and he says "its cancelled" 0riginally it just meant "we're through with you, lets move on to something with more relevance." In some circles now, being "cancelled" is what MAKES them relevant.
