Any fans of the movie series here?

Matrix Reloaded (No. 2) is on HBO right now, and I am so incredibly baffled by the second and third installments of the series. I just don't get it. Can someone explain?

There's nothing to explain. Crappy pretentious sci-fi crap.

But it's deep and meaningful and speaks to the essential nothingness of our existence!

Don't bother. Enjoy the first movie and pretend the series ends there.

  5. The movies do get progressively worse, but I think 2 is still OK.
2 is all about choice versus fate. Notice how many times they discuss that.

The Matrix is a lonely child, it's waiting by the park. The Matrix is in charge of finding treasure in the dark. Watching over lucky clover, isn't that bizarre? Every little thing the Matrix does leaves you answered with a question mark.

I enjoy the action and the amazing special effects. The rest I largely ignore just like I would any other Keanu movie.

I think you need to take a pill of some kind before watching it.

Keanu Reeves flies around, tries on trench coats and says "Morpheus" over and over again between bong hits.

They're worth watching if for nothing else than the special effects.

I knew I was in love with my first girlfriend when she told me she couldn't stand The Matrix.
