Shanahan has proven over the years that he believes the system makes the running back, not the other way around. Quarterbacks, on the other hand are not...um...expendable. I believe Campbell will be back, if Shanahan believes he can be made serviceable. Portis will find his way to Oakland, or some other graveyard, have a couple of good games before breaking down for good.

You're right, Mizzougrad. Gainesville High School.

His funny nose and glasses wearing days appear to be at an end. He's been in decline for two years.

"I've got at least five good years left in me." -- Portis in August 2009.

Not right now. Portis had three 1,500-yard seasons, but otherwise has been nothing special. He is currently 26th all-time in rushing, behind Fred Taylor, Corey Dillon and Warrick Dunn. are any of those three Hall of Famers?

Portis himself said Campbell does nothing but pick himself up, dust himself off and go back to the huddle. Playing behind that offensive line, wouldn't that be oh, leading by example? Just sayin'.

Every guy that has drafted him in our fantasy league has callled him Jerry Seinfeld's girlfriend (you know the one that ryhmes with a female body part).

Didn't Shanahan ship Portis out of Denver earlier last decade? And that was when he still had plenty left in the tank.

Now he's on his last (gimpy) leg, and there will be an abundance of talented backs in the draft with everyone rushing to beat a possible rookie cap.

Portis better put his house on the market now, because "he gon' be gone" soon.

Wasn't he traded for Champ Bailey? It's not like he was dumped for a can of warm beer.

People need to get off Campbell's ass, or at least start paying rent. Dude has taken a pounding and played well by any reasonable measure. No weapons, no support structure, no coaching.

Champ Bailey and a second round draft pick.

I would love to see Portis come to Seattle. He would be a vast improvement over Julius Jones, who sucks something awful.
