California Bans Smokeless Tobacco at MLB Stadiums

    Hallelujah. I often think the death penalty should be reinstated for people who spit in public.

    How is this legal, at least in LA and SF, which are privately-owned stadiums? They are going after one specific sport, and there is not an overriding public interest to protect such as with eliminating secondhand smoke.

    I had a few Joe Coleman baseball cards from the 70s, and every photo had him with a huge bulge in the cheek.

    Oh, and I'm pretty much in line with Ragu. Don't like tobacco, think the use of it is stupid, but geez these guys are adults; if they choose to use it that's their business. California might as well change its nickname from the "Golden State" to the "Nanny State."
