Saw the Olympians last week when they came to our area for an exhibition game. In the official material the team provided, it doesn't mention UCLA anywhere in Bustos' profile.

Oh, and she is an absolute monster in person.

I think that during high school, she may have verbally committed to UCLA but never got there. Or, she may have gotten in, but then flunked out, or left on her own, without ever playing there. I'm not sure.

But I do remember reading something on her a few years ago that chronicled her prodigious softball abilities, as well as some epic academic struggles.

Apparently, softball has always been her thing. School? No so much.

I distinctly remember her playing in the softball world series on TV and there's no way she's on TV at a community college
Perhaps she went and flunked out...

    You're not crazy slap:

Bustos added, “We don’t take any team lightly. I don’t care if they are NAIA. I first went to a junior college in Palm Beach, Fla. I didn’t go directly to UCLA.”

That would have put her at UCLA in 1998-99. But she wasn't on the 1999 title team. So now I'm confused.

How would she have played in 98-99 when she graduated in 98?
