It's one of the top three stories on the Post's website, but I can't believe they went with the Rick Pitino story over this one for the front page.

There are 320,000,000 people in this country.

Some of them will think the owner is racist.

Others will think the robbers' race never should have been emancipated 150 years ago.

    So. Fucking. What.

You can cherry pick extreme views from the fringes all day long. And you will prove nothing.

Will the store owner get jail time like Plaxico for having an unregistered gun?

Highly unlikely. Today's article in the NYT notes there is a lower threshold for owning a shotgun in the city than a handgun, so even if the gun was unregistered and he is charged, it'd be a lesser offense than what Plaxico is facing.

Also, this would be a prime case for jury nullification if it ever were brought to trial. Good luck finding 12 jurors willing to convict on an illegal gun possession charge when the guy was protecting his employees.

    Today's story:

don't want to get shot at? don't rob the store

I feel absolutely no sympathy for the criminal quartet

did it even say the gun was not registered?
another difference is that Plaxico lives in New Jersey and was carrying at a club in NYC, where he most likely wasn't drinking just ginger ale or seltzer.

Gus is usually a character in an Eddie Murphy comedy bit.

When do you plan to admit you were wrong?

Most of you guys know I'm a pretty liberal guy. The number of guns owned and available in this country is pretty ridiculous.
In this case, I have no problem with what the store owner did. He had a shotgun (not a Mack-10 or AK-47) at his store's premises in order to protect himself and his employees.
