    Poor robbers. With better gun laws, they could have robbed and beaten without incident and gone on their merry way.

    The owner will undoubtedly be called a killer & a racist soon.

    And be sued by the surviving robbers, as well as by the families of the dead guys.

    "Gus", who's almost surely Italian shoots four guys in Harlem. Take a look at the comments section on the Times' article.

    And just wait, if the gun turns out to be unregistered or one of the survivors claims to have been fleeing when he was shot, the Al Sharptons of the world will be all over him.

    There will be people calling him a racist killer. There will be people who say he was wholly justified. It's possible both groups will be wrong.

    I'm inclined to say deadly force is justified when your employee is being pistol-whipped. If he shot someone who was fleeing, however, I don't think that's OK. Sentiment might be on his side if he got sued, though.
