I read those links one day when I was bored at work and I was mildly unimpressed with your breakdown of Ernest Hemingway. That is all.

It's a capsule review of a book read at least 15 years ago.

Actually, I stand corrected. It's two sentences.

Of course they're bullshit. And I'm tired of hearing the 10% of this country who somehow haven't figured out this guy is an absolute crook try to defend his overuse of these signing statements by pointing out that all presidents have used them.

Yes, they have. But not to do things like this. And no other president has used as many as GWB.

But then, most of those other presidents had at least a shred of respect for the Constitution, law and common decency.

Someone has to run as the candidate who will give us our rights back.

Also, at what point will this guy get sent to a tribunal?

Not if the Democrats in Congress do their fucking job, which is oversight of the executive branch as spelled out in the separation of powers in the Constitution.

If Pelosi & Co. decide to just roll over, like she made noises about before and after the election, then we ARE screwed.

Thank you. As I posted in another thread, how can he unilaterally do stuff like this? Does the old system of checks and balances no longer apply here?

Not that it would necessarily be the best for America, but I'd love to see Hillary Clinton elected and use W's signing statements as precedent. The GOP would have no grounds to complain considering their lap dog status from 2000-2006.

  11. To be fair, the NYDN blew out its front page on this story Thursday morning.
    One more atrocity.
    Jesus wept.

When was the last time you got mail that wasn't a bill, greeting card or junk?

Hey George, if you open the visa bill you pay the visa bill
