Only 30 posts to mention that, perhaps, a nuclear Iran might just be a bad thing. I figured we'd have another 50 idiotic posts completing ignoring the point before someone brought that up. The hatred-induced ignorance around here never ceases to amaze me. Now, commence with more whining, over-the-top paranoia and one-liners.

You know, maybe there'd be more concern if, say, the President hadn't already once led the nation astray about dangerous weapons.

Difficult to embrace a chief executive whose broad credibility rating over the past five years is below zero.

Bingo! And of course we've already seen the disastrous results of the Iraq War. Knowing what we know, I'm not sure how anyone could countenance any sort of pre-emptive strike against Iran.

And despite popular opinion, Iran has a fairly widespread middle class that does not shun Western ideas. In order to have a stable future in Iran and perhaps the Middle East, we need to encourage those elements. Making moves for a strike against Iran not only discourages them, but it also unifies opinion against the U.S., no matter what that middle class thinks of their leader. It's still their country.

Lincoln is said to have a girly-ass unmanly voice, in spite of his gifts as a people person and a persuasive rhetorician.

But something tells me, I don't know, that he could pronounce nuclear. Maybe even properly consume a pretzel. Difference is, Lincoln rode a real horse when he went to meet with his generals, this false president rides a stick one.

Attacking personality in this spot is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Facts are facts. The first lies led to terrible mistakes, and more lies. And we're all supposed to rise up and say, "Sure, we'll go along with you this time, Mr. Wonderful."

    Not bloody likely.

So what you're saying, D-K, is that as long as Bush is president you refuse to take any threats seriously or even put any thought into what our enemies might be doing and how that will affect our security because it's just much easier to bitch and moan and make jokes?

    Fitting fable for this situation.

pallister, you want to take potshots at some of us as "paranoid," but it was paranoia led to one war in the Middle East, and now this same group of "leaders" is trying to do THE EXACT SAME THING WITH THE EXACT SAME EXCUSE. How many times do you want want to do this? Are you going to wait outside the recruiting station to go to Iran?

Our nation is already fighting two unfinished wars that were started on lies (<b>Iraq</b>: WMDs~!; <b>Afghanistan</b>: key to 9/11~! no wait, now that's Iraq. Uh, Afghanistan? What's that?) How many wars should the U.S. get involved in over there and leave unfinished? Is this just going to continue until we have thin troops fighting guerrillas in every single Asian nation?

Taking a threat seriously and diving headfirst into war are two different things. War should be a last resort.

Bush should have thought about his credibility before he spun out his line of bullshit about Iraq -- while being anything but straight with the American people in the process.

There are legitimate points to be made, on the other side. And if Bush had played it straight from the get-go, he'd get a more respectful hearing. But he's like the little boy who's played the Iraq falsecard -- false rationalizations, and bad results -- and the broad public's supposed to overlook it all? A lot to ask, given the surrounding circumstances.

Once again, one square mile of ground has been seized in Afghanistan since Oct. 2001.

The poppies are back in the fields and the burqas are being refitted.

And from what I seen, some pretty faces under those there burqas.

This has been a public announcement. We return you now to your test pattern, Republicans.

Lots of colors, like your ever colorful prez. What a charisma.
