A war with Iraq was clearly a part of a larger agenda by the Bush administration and they sold it the same way every politician sells his favorite boondoggle -- by lying to us about how much we need it ......

What was the larger agenda? Democracy in the Middle East?

Yeah, that's it -- we're going to turn the world into one big happy freedom-loving nation!!!

His larger agenda was apparantly justifying the building a war machine that required billions in corporate welfare while removing Saddam Hussein, a family nemesis, as well as creating a department of homeland security -- the ultimate big government act by a so-called conservative by the way -- which enabled his administration to beceom even more authoratarian than previous ones while shredding the constitution and taking away more of our freedom and privacy....

Does that about sum it up?

    Sorry, no.
I can sum up the war in one three letter word: Oil.

Which is why I am amused that some people around here consider me to be a shill for George W. The guy has been a disaster to the constitution.

I can't believe I'm going the defend "THE WORLD'S BIGGEST FUCKIN' HERO!!!!" but ...

    This graf is a problem:

That's cute that it's now beyond dispute, but prove to me that they knew it then when they made the false statements.

For the record, I whole heartedly believe he lied.
