In the "you can't make this shit up" department.

My kid loses his wallet at the Jays game last Tuesday. Driver's license, birth certificate, bank card--the whole nine yards.

Applies for a birth certificate online.

Purolator tries to deliver it yesterday but no one's home so they leave a card saying he should pick it up to the Purolator Store.

After breakfast, he, his twin brother and I go down to the store.

Well, in order to pick up the birth certificate at the store, he needs photo ID. He had all sorts of other stuff--income tax, pay stubs, etc but the policy is, they can't release the package without photo id. But he needed his birth certificate to GET photo ID. They wouldn't even let me vouch for him.

However, they would redeliver it to the house on Tuesday---and anyone--yes, ANYONE-who answers the door can sign for it.

I mean, you can't get pissed at something like this. It's a classic Catch 22.

Look at the bright side. You only need half a sheet of paper and a number two pencil if you want to export the birth certificate to Peoria.

Purolator sucks ass. I avoid them at all costs and try to use FedEx whenever possible.

You can't reason with the people who work there. I couldn't get decent customer service while working there for 5 years, never mind now.
