This year will determing their long-term fate. They got rid of the uncoachable idiots in Young and Dukes. They've got OUTSTANDING pitching and they added some legit veteran presence in Percival and Floyd (as opposed to two years ago, when they gave managerkiller Dan Miceli a two-year deal). My sense is they finally feel they have a core they can work with, as opposed to a bunch of obscenely talented idiots.

I think Longoria is a wild card here. If he can deliver and nail down third base, they'll be better defensively. If he can add another good bat to the lineup he could help the Satan Rays to another 10-15 wins.

Of course, that's assuming he starts the year in the majors.

Someone has put something on this page that asks to accept a certificate.
    Did someone attempt a link?

    True, BYH.

But it would have been nicer to have those two guys three or four years ago, though.

Could you trust those two knuckleheads to be on the team in three or four years from now?

My bad. I was talking about Percival and Floyd.

It's ONLY arguable in an All-Star setting.

In spring, you are trying to make the team... playing BASEBALL.

It was a legal play at the plate. End of story.

Next time the Yankees think it is an exhibition and they shouldn't be playing baseball, have the catcher cede the plate and let the Rays guy score standing up.

I can't believe this story is till ongoing. The Rays' kid was trying to make the team and played clean, hard-nosed baseball. There was nothing dirty about him running over the Yanks' catcher. Duncan's act was premeditated, an intent to injure.

In the mind of the D-Rays, The Yanks never considered it a rivalry.
