The inability to even be civil with people who have different political beliefs than you.

There were a million other ways to express distaste with the Vietnam War than wearing those damned black arm bands to school!

    I understand that.

I'm asking what statement he thinks he's making by snubbing the White House.

I believe that's called modern American political discourse.

Why should he give the federal government a photo-op? You can make a statement with silence. Civil disobedience.

This hardly rises to the level of civil disobedience. It's mostly just poor manners.

If you want to do something about the overgrowth of federal government, why not go the White House and actually use the occasion to talk to the President?

So if the Bruins only have two Americans, and Thomas isn't showing, then when the Bruins stand with Obama, there will be only one person on that stage born in America AMIRITE?

Why should he serve as photo-op propaganda for someone he wants to see voted out of office?

His 'statement' says his statement isn't political.

This is not a lot different from when Alec Baldwin moved to Canada when George Bush was reelected.
