Brown Publishing goes Chapter 11

    Owned a ton of small papers, especially in Ohio.

    The worst. Brown makes Ogden look like the Times.
     
  3. Been rumored for the last couple of years. Brown's journalism products have been going down hill like a lot of other newspaper companies.

    Knew a bunch of people who worked at Brown companies, hope this doesn't end rough for them (though it's hard to imagine it getting rougher than working for Brown). Some said their papers were required to maintain a 50-percent profit margin. I couldn't believe it was true.

    This has been a long-time coming. One creditor sued the company a year or so ago for manipulating itself toward bankruptcy.
