Michael Farkas recently accepted a page designer position at the Tampa Tribune. Mike did a fine job at the Bristol Herald Courier, taking a tough situation and making it a first-class publication. I worked with Mike for a few months in Bristol when he got his start, and there aren't many better journalists or people than Mike. I certainly wish him the best of luck.

The BHC is a great opportunity for somebody. The pay isn't going to be great (Media General), but it's an opportunity to work at a solid paper that covers a lot of stuff (Tennessee, Virginia Tech, NASCAR, small colleges, lots of preps, etc...).

Just trying to give this one a little bump. It's a good opportunity to do some great coverage of top-notch college football and NASCAR events. You also have the freedom on desk to try new things with layout and design. You'll be working with some good writers as well.

Sam and I got to know each other through our wives a few years back ... good person with a really, really good knowledge of design.

He's pretty quiet, and because of his background of working his way up through the newsroom ranks, would be a great guy to work for.
