It's pretty close to Short Pump.

And the Richmond Coliseum. And in Roanoke, I think it was at the Civic Center. The Squares were one of the regional teams.

Good luck with this ... no sarcasm.

I fondly recall the days of the Renegades visiting my stop at the time. Good times talking with John Brophy ...

Never met Brophy but wish I had. Good interview?

On an unrelated topic, were you surprised Jim Rutherford's retirement was so brief?

I was going to say that Brophy was the Hampton Roads Admirals coach and abhorred the Renegades, but it turns out that he coached the second version of the Renegades in the SPHL. I knew he had a post-Admirals run in Wheeling, West Virginia, but thought that was it. Learn something every day.

I dunno about a great interview, but while a little gruff, that was Brophy. Never refused to cooperate.

A little surprised JR's retirement was that short-lived, but doesn't that give us a hint that the resignation wasn't entirely voluntary? Guess any safety net Ron Francis might have had disappeared, and someone else will be the possible sounding board.

All the best to JR ... didn't get all the decisions correct - no one does - but a class act and a straight shooter.

Now I know the answer to the trivia question what do Dr. J, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Big Circus have in common?
