I found myself in a pretty spirited argument about the merits of Urlacher last weekend.

I think he belongs in, even if his career ended today...

    Thoughts?

First ballot. No questions asked. Shocked that someone would argue otherwise.

The more difficult question will surround his longtime sidekick Lance Briggs.

That he's overrated, and injured all the time. I guess one season = all the time...

During the game, I think the announcer may have referred to him as a "future hall of famer" and this person scoffed.

I said, "You don't think he makes it to Canton, because I sure as hell do..."

I knew it. I knew that the argument was going to be, "He's overrated."

So, yes. Brian Urlacher is overrated.

And still a Hall of Famer.

    He's both.

So, he's Derek Jeter of the NFL? :D

I also got the "White player in Chicago argument..."

Which is why the most revered, beloved player in Bears history was a black kid from Mississippi.

I don't know where people got the idea that Urlacher has missed a ton of time to injuries, but they have it for some reason.

I thought Chad Johnson's Riverdance touchdown celebration, just after that whole thing came out with a paternity love triangle between Urlacher and Michael Flatle and some chick, was a HOF-worthy taunt.
