BREAKING: Two dead, shooter "neutralized" in Portland mall shooting

Two dead, at least a half dozen injured after a masked gunman shoots up the Clackamas Town Center mall in Portland.
Police say the shooter has been "neutralized," but haven't specified what that means (most likely a bullet in the head, whether by their gun or his).

Amazing that only one person other than the shooter (if the reports are correct) was killed. Thank God he was a lousy shot.

 

Let the gun debate began again.

 

Or maybe he was going after one specific person, like an estranged husband/wife situation?
Seems like an awful lot of firepower for that, though. And wearing a mask doesn't really fit with the way that scenario usually plays out.

Yeah. Reports seem to indicate he was just randomly firing.

 

no. it appears as though dude would have killed as many as he could have if his gun wouldn't have jammed.
after his piece went inoperable, he threw down another clip, walked into macy's and offed himself.

yay for guns!

 

If only there were some heroes in the mall who were packing and firing at the guy without regard for bystanders.

Anderson Cooper just got done with a very painful interview with two valley girls about the shooting. I say painful not because of the events they described, but just how badly they related it. At one point Cooper gave just a blank stare and just let out a quick "right." It really sounded like they were just stringing Cooper along, giving him some contradictory information (which could also just be the usual unreliablity of eye witnesses). I know the 24-hour news stations are scrabbling to get witnesses, but at what point do producers tell two girls sharing a phone "thanks, but no thanks."

 

Who was he racist against?
