    Pedro also has a torn rotator cuff, will have surgery next week and won't be back for the start of the 2007 season....down for at least 8 months.. or maybe forever

    As much as I deplore the Mets, this sucks. His 1997-2000 performance might be the most dominant era in the history of baseball, and it's been fascinating to watch him adapt in his post-prime years. He's an awesome pitcher and competitor and I hope he makes it back.
