that sucks........Pedro was the best pitcher I've ever seen, he's a shell of his old self now, and will never approach the pitcher he was from '97-2004.

Meanwhile, El Duque: 5 IP, 0 ER, 9K against the Braves tonight in a tuneup for Game 1 of the playoffs. Mets aren't dead yet.

In a completely non-gay way, I am deeply fond of you, Dog.

And yes, as Webster points out, it's nice that this proves once again what an idiot Russo is. Only a complete moron would think Pedro, as proud a person as there is in the game, would be faking an injury or unwilling to pitch thru pain.

Come to think of it, didn't Mad Dog dog Pedro the afternoon of Game Five of the 1999 ALDS? Didn't he wonder why Saberhagen was starting over their ace and wonder why the ace coudln't sack up for the biggest game of the year? Then Pedro comes out and throws six no-hit innings of relief against a team that had scored about 1,000 runs the previous two games. Cram it, Dog.

HA! I meant cram it Mad Dog.

Should have just said Cram it Russo. Then there would be no confusion.

And Big Dog, look at the upside to all this: With his team out of it after four games, Horwitz will have more time to examine the area right in front of the dugouts to figure out the best spot for maximum cranial exposure in the final two rounds.

Exactly. Although with the size of his cranium, he can be in right field and still get in the shots.
