The best sneakers and tennis shoes I've ever owned have all been Nike. That's another of the 30 or so brands I'm very, very loyal toward.

Ford (a Mustang, a Thunderbird and 3 Rangers) and Harley. My wife was a Honda driver her whole life when we got married and that had to go. She's now got an Escape. Castrol oil and Fram filters. Doc Martens 1460s.

As for products, if I walk into a store to purchase a drink, I chose Coke products. If Pepsi products are all that's available, that's fine. My real first choice is Dr. Enuf.

    Campagnolo.

    Oh, and of course, Apple.

Same here. After blowing the sides out of three consecutive pairs of Reeboks years ago, I switched to Nike. Never had that problem again. They've lasted, no short-term issues and they're cut wide enough to fit my foot, which is no small feat.

Just curious, since it sounds like the Nike thing is a statement, as opposed to a quality issue:

How does one draw the line at Nike but be brand loyal to Apple?

It's not political. I just don't like Nike products.

    Begins and ends with Helmans.

Also a New Balance guy thanks to my wide feet.

Peter Pan peanut butter. Stores stopped stocking it during that one outbreak and I had to go roving the countryside for it. I hate Jiff and Skippy. Both taste burnt.

    Heinz for ketchup.

Tide for laundry detergent. I wish they made Tide flavored lollipops, that's how much I like Tide's fragrance over the other brands.

"Simply" brand juices. Their orange, apple and cranberry juices are fantastic.

Are there any brands of bananas other than Chiquita? I've never eaten one if there are.

Simply Orange is a vastly superior orange juice.

I am also very loyal to Under Armour, they make awesome boxers.

    You had me.

    And then you lost me.

    My brand loyalties:

    Pepsi
Heinz (I won't buy any other brand, and won't use hunts at a restaurant)
Tyson over Banquet for frozen chicken (there's just a difference)
    Hanes ankle socks
Friskies Surfin' and Turfin' Favorites for my cats
Purina One Healthy Puppy for the dog
    Kraft cheese slices

    Fair enough.

So I take from SportsJournalists.com that folks Americans are fiercely loyal to certain brands but cheat on their spouses.

    Maybe wives should advertise more.
