The Bozeman Daily Chronicle, a 16,000 circulation daily in the center of the Last Best Place in Bozeman, Mont., is seeking a sports editor. The AP Sports Editors have in the past honored the Chronicle as one of the top sports sections in the country for papers its size, and we are committed to continuing that level of quality. Bozeman is home to Montana State University, a member of the Big Sky Conference, and we routinely send reporting teams to far-away places for game coverage. Also, we cover several area high schools and focus on outdoor reporting, from hunting and fishing to sking and ice-climbing. Sports matter here. Preference given to applicants with sports editing experience, but daily newspaper experience is a must. Applicants should send a resume, cover letter, writing and design samples and references to Nick Ehli, managing editor, Bozeman Chronicle, 2820 West College, Bozeman, Mont., 59718, by Nov. 19. E-mail applicattions can be sent to nehli@dailychronicle.com.

Mouthing off on message boards extremely frowned upon here.

Looking at kiddie porn at work is also frowned upon.

Bozeman is an interesting place ... that salary won't go all that far there. COL is well above the U.S. average. I prefer Missoula myself. Just a cooler town. Haven't read the paper regularly in more than 10 years, but they did travel everywhere for MSU football and basketball, and it was a good-looking paper when I saw it.

Your obligatory "I work here, PM me for details if you really want them" posting. As if you guys didn't know already.

The few times I've visited Bozeman I have enjoyed reading the paper and even thought it looked like a possibility someday down the road.

Fantastic area if you love the outdoors, locally and regionally.

I think it's more like mouthing off bad things about your employer is frowned upon.

If you want to mouth off about, say, global warming or instant replay, that might not be such a terrible thing.
