Maybe this'll be fun, maybe it won't. I'm a nerd, so I think it will be. :D

Here's the rules: I'll start off by posting one-half of a famous/memorable box score, you tell me what it's from. If you can give me the date/year, teams involved, etc., all the better. As long as you get it right.

    Here's an easy one:

AB R H RBI BB SO BA OPS Pit PO A Details
    W Boggs 3B 5 2 3 0 1 0 .296 .774 21 1 0 2B,IW
    M Barrett 2B 4 1 3 2 2 0 .480 1.127 28 1 4
    B Buckner 1B 5 0 0 0 0 0 .143 .315 14 5 0 HBP
    J Rice LF 5 0 0 0 1 2 .304 .883 25 5 0
    D Evans RF 4 0 1 2 1 0 .273 .840 20 1 0 2B
    R Gedman C 5 0 1 0 0 1 .192 .423 13 9 0 GDP
    D Henderson CF 5 1 2 1 0 0 .435 1.266 26 5 0 HR
    S Owen SS 4 1 3 0 0 1 .353 .831 12 2 2 SH
    R Clemens P 3 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 6 0 1
    M Greenwell PH 1 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .250 3 0 0
    C Schiraldi P 1 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 3 0 1
    B Stanley P 0 0 0 0 0 0 .000 .000 0 0

Obviously, that's the Red Sox line from the <a href="http://www.authenticsportscollectibles.com/store/images/BUCKPHS008000-L.jpg">Buckner game</a> (Game 6, 1986 World Series.)

If you get it right, you post the next box. I used baseball-reference.com to find that one. (Although Baseball-Almanac's <a href="http://www.baseball-almanac.com/ws/wsmenu.shtml">World Series page</a> might be easier to cut and paste from, if you use WS boxes. Or retrosheet.org.) Expand to other sports if you like (here's sites for <a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/">NFL</a>, <a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/">NBA</a> and <a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/">NHL</a>, too.)

OK, here's the first one (not terribly difficult, but just to get in the spirit of things):

AB R H RBI BB SO BA OPS PO A Details
    D McAuliffe 2B 4 0 1 0 0 1 .250 .500 4 0

    A Kaline RF 4 0 1 0 0 3 .250 .750 2 0 2B
    N Cash 1B 4 0 0 0 0 3 .000 .000 6 1
    W Horton LF 4 0 0 0 0 2 .000 .000 2 0
    J Northrup CF 3 0 0 0 0 2 .000 .000 2 0

Game 1 of the '68 World Series; Bob Gibson struck out 17 Tigers in a five-hitter. He was good that year.

Yep '68 World Series, didn't have to look it up. But that's only because I'm from Detroit.

    That's Game 5 of the 1985 NLCS.

Is that the game in which Pittsburgh's Harvey Haddix threw 12 perfect innings, only to lose in the 13th?

I believe it is. If memory serves, he gave up a walk and then an RBI double which this box score shows.

That is correct. Of course, the RBI double was actually a homer that became a double when Adcock passed Aaron on the basepaths. Aaron had held up, between first and second, I believe, because he thought the ball might be caught.
