I'm heading there in a couple of weeks for college tours w one of my boys. Hoping Spring blooms (unfortunately will miss Bokx since he's not of age).

Spot on. Why go to Fenway Park when you could hit a Christmas Tree Shop or catch
a Melody Tent show on The Cape.

You don't go to the Cape to be indoors unless you're eating and drinking.

Hey back in the day I spent some quality weekends in Falmouth Heights where the only reason to go outside was to cross the street to move from The Casino to Brothers Four.

Wow is Boston cold right now (high 40's); damn cannot get over the traffic; takes 45 mins to go 8 miles around Boston. Some wonderful areas; the Fenway/Back Bay area is gorgeous. Saw Worchester too. Unfortunately so many tours did not see Freedom Trail.

Got back a few days ago. Loved the trip. Weather was great while we were there.

Loved Fenway. I have never been much of an AL or Sox fan, but the atmosphere in and out of the park was just great. Ended up getting pretty good Granstand seats for about $60 each.

We also did this 3 day GoBoston pass that lets you do many of the museums and tours and whatnot for a set number of days.

In addition to Fenway, highlights were:
    • Freedom Trail with a costumed guide (Kids pooh-poohed the guide, but I liked it.) Highlight of the tour was the Granary Burial Ground, Michael_Gee.
    • JFK library -- really well done.
    • Eating a lobster roll
    • Whale watching tour
    • Harvard Musuem glass flowers display
    • Aquarium, which is pretty nice (though not large) and in a great spot.
We took the T everywhere. It was easy -- especially to the airport. Hard to get from where we were (Seaport area) to downtown without switching 3-4 times, though. Easier to walk.

Also rode one trolley as part of the pass. It was OK for a quick view, but nothing special.

Boston Common seems like a pretty cool park (even with all the homeless folks). Bostonians really seem to like their outdoors spaces, especially bars.

One flub was trying to walk/take the T from JFK library to the Castle Park (Fort Independence) that my son wanted to see in South Boston. My wife, mother-in-law and niece were also with us. People actually stopped to ask if we really meant to walk down certain streets. The walk was longer than it looked. The actual park is nice, though.

Ace, I'm glad the trip was a good one for you and yours. If there's a next time, you can branch out from Boston proper to other of our fine venues and attractions. Good on you for going for a lobster roll.
