Boston Herald Patriots beat/Birmingham News Crimson Tide beat

The Rockbottom Pipeline is proud to report that Ian R. Rapaport has resigned his position at the Birmingham News, and will be the lead Patriots beat writer for the Boston Herald.

Needless to say, a HUGE get for the Herald, and that leaves Birmingham without its marquee beat writer just weeks before SEC Media Days.

    Let the speculatin' begin!

Moving this to journalism - when a job opening is actually posted, we'll have a thread for that.
    Congrats to Ian.

Congrats to Ian, my favorite Bham News writer under 5-9! Nick will be sorry to see you go. Maybe your replacement will cave to the masses and call him "Coach!"

I'll trust it wasn't Anthony Grant who drove him out of town.

For a minute, when I saw the thread title, I thought the Herald and the News had combined the gigs and that didn't make any sense to me at all.
I was like, "whoa, hell of a commute from Tuscaloosa to Boston each week."
Then I realized I was stupid and moved on.

They're just trying to follow in the footsteps of Albany.

It is nice to get a piece of good news on these boards once in awhile.

    Great hire.
