Came through on a facebook feed, but saw that Grand Rapids is laying off 18 while Muskegon is booting 10.

Not sure if this is a new development or just an old announcement?

At any rate, I believe Grand Rapids was doing a regional copy desk for some of the other papers in the Booth chain.

Yeah Booth has done a lot of changes in the past couple years. Flint, Saginaw and Bay City all went down to printing three days a week, but now they gained a fourth day. Booth took copy editing, deign and printing away from Muskegon and Kalamazoo, which are done in Grand Rapids. The GR Press, Kzoo Gazette and Muskegon Chronicle are all printed outside of GR in Walker.

The news here, though, is the layoffs at GR and Muskegon.
