    That is correct. He was "reporting" to Steele.

    has anyone ever heard of a college assistant getting a severance package?

    Jeff Bowden had a one year contract that expired in Aug '07, yet was given a 5 yr deal.

    Sounds like a player with a big contract who is released despite being owed a lot of money. Talk about what's wrong with athletics -- and at the college level too. What a disgrace.

    it is sad, Jeff had a one year deal (all assistants at FSU have that) and was paid $140,000 or so.

    that contract expires Aug '07. But the Boosters gave him a "severance" of over $500,000.

    makes no sense, I can't find a single other case of anything like this happening on the college level.
