    The sad history of the Hall of Fame is that as occasionally unreasonable and always unrepresentative an electorate as the BBWAA has been, the various committees such as the Veterans Committee set up by MLB have notably worse records in selecting members of the Hall. See Miller, Marvin.
    MLB is DYING to get a fan vote into the Hall process in some form. That'll be good news for Pete Rose, among others. In fact, if it weren't for Rose, this already would've happened.
